Introducing Caterpillar Corner

Caterpillar Logo 3

I began this blog to share my experiences of PND and my recovery journey, and to help others who may be suffering, and this will remain the key focus for my writing.

However, I have been well and truly bitten by the blogging bug! I had no idea how much enjoyment I would get from the writing and sharing process. I am incredibly grateful to have initially found the #pndfamily, and in participating in regular linkys I’ve now met many other parent bloggers who post on a whole variety of topics, and they have really inspired me to expand a little.

I’ll still be posting about mental health on a regular basis as that is definitely my passion. However, for 2016 I’ve decided to start a series called Caterpillar Corner to post alongside this. Here I’ll share my views on a variety of topics (feeding, weaning, play, being a working mum etc) as well as updates on my son, topical issues and many random parenting moments! I haven’t figured out a posting schedule yet but the Caterpillar Corner posts are likely to be either fortnightly or monthly, depending on the MH content.

I wanted to start off just by telling you a little about “Caterpillar” (so called because of my blog name). He is 2 years and 7 months and currently loves puzzles, cars, drawing and anything made by Disney Pixar. I work part time so he goes to nursery two days a week and he loves it (more on that in a later post). He is a complete show-off and really affectionate which I adore. What I’m not enjoying right now is the countless night wakings and regular whining!

I should say right up front that these posts are not going to be about Pinterest-worthy crafts or perfect parenting as that’s just not me. I call myself a Good Enough Mum and I can only hope my son agrees. I still struggle with anxiety sometimes which impacts on my feelings about parenthood so I’m really happy to just be comfortable doing my best.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy these upcoming posts and I’d really love to hear from you in the comments, or over on Twitter where I spend way too many hours each week.

Ah can’t wait to hear more about your little caterpillar – we have a little caterpillar around the same age and yes! there is a lot of whining, and we had a lot of night wakings just gone as she seemed to be going through some big cognitive changes again – it really interrupts their sleep! 5. Looking forward to Caterpillar corner! your little caterpiller sounds similar to mine (he’s almost 4) and hopelessly addicted to pixar films & Cars – blogging is a great outlet and it will be exciting to explore other avenues and don’t worry about “pinterest worthy” crafts haha we can’t all be like that (it’s what I tell myself when my 10th attempt at making something has failed :p ) Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again in the New Year xx
