Following their lovely Spring event, we decided to head back to Marsh Farm Animal Adventure Park for their Wizards & Witches Pumpkin Picking Festival this week. Despite my recent threenager post, Caterpillar was on fabulous form and had a really great time.
Our Favourite Moments
- I love Autumn so much and we really enjoyed the way the farm was decorated, with lots of haybale & pumpkin displays for brilliant photo op and spooky displays like the decorated train.
- Just like in the Spring, the animals were the real stars of the show. Caterpillar was particularly enthralled with the reindeer and the micro pigs were so gorgeous.
- The Halloween show was a lot of fun. The two “ghostbusters” really got everyone involved with great energy and popular songs. They kept the theme creepy without being too scary for little ones.
- We were really impressed with the brand new playground at the back. This wasn’t there earlier in the year and it’s probably the best playground I’ve ever seen! Really big and with lots of original features. Caterpillar spent a long time playing here.
- They had a few rides too which were included in the price, which is a bonus.
- We loved that there was so much to do there. We arrived about 11am and didn’t leave until gone 4, and we still didn’t have enough time to do everything. Rides, playgrounds, animals, tractor rides, shows and soft play – it’s all here and all included.
I should also mention the pumpkin patch of course. Since I knew we were due to be visiting another patch the day after we didn’t actually take one home (although the price does include a pumpkin for every child). I think there’s something so beautiful about pumpkins and pumpkin patches (just check out my Instagram at the moment) and there was a really good choice and variety of pumpkins.
The only downsides were that our lunch in the restaurant was pretty expensive and the farm was extremely busy, being smack bang in the middle of half term. But overall, we had an absolutely awesome day and it really got us in the Autumn-y spirit. The event runs until Sunday if you want to check it out, or see Marsh Farm’s website for future days out.
