A Thank You Note

ty

It’s been quite a week for The Butterfly Mother.  I’ve been lucky enough to be chosen as one of the star posts on three different awesome linkys. It’s pretty nerve-wracking to share my PND experiences outside of the mental health blogging community and I’m so incredibly touched that my words have been noticed, and even singled out, by the wider parenting bloggers. Most of these ladies haven’t had experience of Perinatal Illness personally but have been so, so supportive, and have promoted this blog to others in their reach which is my main goal really. There are likely mums out there who are struggling but maybe don’t feel comfortable following a blog such as mine, or even know that PND blogs exist, but who may now come across my words whilst reading other blogs and feel less alone and more able to ask for help.  That fact alone makes my heart very happy and is my main motivation for putting these difficult experiences out there.

So a huge thank you to everyone who has featured my tiny piece of the internet and shown wonderful support for my writing. Please check out these awesome linkys and blogs from some fabulous mums who write beautifully about so many parenting joys and challenges.

Also, a warm hello and welcome to my new followers. Thank you so much for reading and commenting. If you suspect you may be suffering from PND or any other perinatal mood or anxiety disorder yourself and feel you need some help please visit the Help & Useful Resources page or join the amazing Twitter chat run by Rosey at PND&Me every Wed at 8pm BST. Simply search #PNDHour to connect with a wonderful group of survivors, advocates and medical professionals who specialise in maternal mental health. To access love and support from other mums at any time please search for, or Tweet to, #PNDChat.

Lastly, on a personal level, writing this blog is so cathartic and brings me so much joy and comfort. Knowing there are people actually reading it too is the icing on the cake! I’d love to connect with more of you and get to know you better so please comment below and say hi, or find me on Twitter or Facebook.

Thank you for your support x

  1. What a beautiful gift to know that your words have helped heal countless others who struggle with PND, and now, the ripples of your reach will extend that help even further. I’m so proud and happy for you, my friend. <3
