Luxury Facial At Home with Pinks Boutique

Pinks BoutiqueI am an enormous believer in the importance of self-care.  I strongly believe that just because you’re a mum it doesn’t mean you should sacrifice your identity or taking care of your needs.  Obviously you simply wont have even a fraction of the time to yourself you had pre-children but when you do have those a few minutes to spare why not treat yourself to something you’ll really enjoy?

I love spas (who doesn’t?), it’s rare I can enjoy the privilege of a facial very often these days but that doesn’t mean I can’t do it myself and pretend, right?

Those of you who read my Mother’s Day Gifts That Take Care of You post will already be familiar with the awesome Pinks Boutique.  I discovered this brand a couple of months ago and I love everything about them – their packaging, their product and their ethos. Unlike lots of other brands and products that claim to be natural and organic Pinks Boutique’s products really are, as certified by the Soil Association.  You can read a lot more about this on their website and it’s really interesting actually, it opened my eyes to what it means for something to be truly organic.

PB Package montageI wanted to tell you a little bit more about the Intense Hydration Facial Gift Box I’ve been using.  First off, I am a total sucker for lovely packaging and this gift box was so beautifully wrapped – making it perfect as a present for someone.  The colours and wrapping are beautiful, the glass bottles are really high quality and I think any friend would be really extremely pleased with this gift.

The collection includes a Hydrating Deep Cleanse Melt, an Ocha & Rosehip Moisturiser and an Organic Muslin Face Cloth.

The cleanser is really different to others I’ve used.  Pinks Boutique provide professional products to spas and you can really tell.  This is nothing like the thin, runny or foaming cleansers I usually buy from Superdrug – this product is called a cleansing melt and that’s a great description.  It starts as a thick, dense consistency and then begins to melt into your skin, with a balm-like effect.

PB cleanser 3If you add a little more water it thins and you can use it to remove your make-up or other impurities. I even massaged it around my eye area to remove the previous night’s eyeliner and it didn’t sting or irritate at all.  I’d imagine this product would be great for sensitive skin.

The consistency seems fairly oily when you first touch it but it doesn’t leave an oily or greasy residue afterwards at all.  My favourite thing is probably the smell – reminds me hugely of the beautiful essential oils smell you get at the spa.

The moisturiser again has a gorgeous fragrance, and I really like the pump bottle.  Such a small, silly thing but the pump works really well and only deposits the tiny amount you need (as opposed to some brands that either gush out product or require impressive hand muscles to get a single drop out!).  A little goes a long way, which is great.  It’s absorbed really quickly into your skin and, again, leaves your face soft for a long time afterwards, without greasiness.  Truth be told, I would like to rub this stuff into my entire body but probably best to save for my face where it is most desperately needed!PB moisturiser

The set also includes a lovely muslin cloth for removing the cleanser which is really handy.

Pinks Boutique have a huge range of products including other cleansers and moisturisers, toners and exfoliators, as well as oils and bath products for your entire body, specific manicure and pedicure products, waxing essentials and much more.  What’s really exciting for us parents in that they are soon to be launching a range specifically designed to be safe to use during pregnancy and on babies.

  1. This looks lovely, great review. I have sensitive skin so I like that you mentioned it didn’t irritate around the eye area it sounds like a lovely luxury and I know what you mean about the runny ones from superdrug, I buy most of mine from there! #KCACOLS

  2. Thanks Laura for the lovely post. On the home page of our website you can click on the New to Natural and Organic service and receive free samples, just paying for postage. When you have sensitive skin it is crucial you get a chance to try them first. We would love you to try them. PB x

  3. That set looks really beautiful and the melt just sounds amazing. I have never been to a Spa, I’m saving up to head to the Spa on our cruise in August though. I feel it’s a must! I also agree that if you can take a few minutes to pamper yourself it’s so worth it! I did yesterday with a face mask which has left my skin feeling great today! #kcacols

  4. This sounds like a lovely and luxury product!! I’m not very fun of doing facials although I think with the years I must admit that I have much more wrinkles than before so I should definitely start doing this. At the moment I’m only applying Marula Oil to my face which is amazing and I feel that brings my face back to life. This is a fantastic gift box and I’m sure who ever receives it will be absolutely thrilled. Thanks so much lovely for sharing this at #KCACOLS. I would love to see you again on Sunday! 🙂 x

  5. Sounds great. It’s so annoying when brands claim to have no nasties on their products and yet when you read the ingredients they’re actually full of chemicals. I have a birthday coming up and so does my mum so I will check out this site and see if there’s anything we may fancy. Thanks for sharing 🙂

  6. I love all natural products, especially when they actually ARE natural, organic! I need to check this out, especially the hydrating cleanser as I always forget to take my eyeliner off and look like a beat-up zombie in the morning. Thanks for linking up with #StayClassy!

  7. Great review, and I totally know what you mean about being a sucker for luxurious packaging-I’m exactly the same!! These products look amazing, and I’ve only recently discovered that if a product claims to be organic it isn’t always 100% that. Most of my adult life I just used basic skin care products, but since having the children I want to preserve my skin a bit better and have starting splashing out on really decent products. These look well worth a look!

  8. This sounds just delicious! I’m like you I love spas and self-care, the whole bit but obviously the practicality of going to a spa and the cost just isn’t something I can do often these days. So something to make us mums (or anyone) feel pampered from the comfort of their own home sounds fab. Yes the packaging is gorgeous it makes the product look really luxurious

  9. Ooooo, that sounds so nice! I cannot remember the last time I had a facial. But I could really do with one 🙂 I will be having a look at this company for sure. And how gorgeous is it’s packaging? #KCACOLS xx

  10. What a lovely little spa set! I completely agree, us mums need to find and make time to pamper ourselves every now and then, even if it is at home and done by us. Sets like these are perfect for giving ourselves a little pick me up and spot of relaxation 🙂 Thanks for sharing it on #MarvMondays. Emily

  11. This looks like a great little set! I must admit I never really spend time pampering but really should make more of an effort. Thanks for linking up with #shareitsunday x
