If you want to feel your absolute best every single day, you shouldn’t leave it to chance. Sure, you could wake up in the morning, roll out of bed, and hope for the best. However, you’ll have a much better time if you make sure you do the following 8 things every single day. Take a look!
1. Go For A Walk
Most experts recommend that we get in 10,000 steps a day for optimal general health. If you lead a fairly sedentary life right now, make an effort to up your steps. You don’t need to do this all right away, as building on it bit by bit will make it easier and help you to build a habit. Even better? Avoid using a treadmill and get your steps in outside instead. This will give you the fresh air and sunlight recommended each day, and you should notice that you feel energized and positive afterward.
2. Work Out
As well as your walk, consider getting in a workout. Even a short workout could help you to give those happy hormones a boost. The short term and long term benefits of working out are immense, and should not be ignored. Sure, it might feel like effort to get started, but if you can find a type of exercise you enjoy, you’ll quickly begin to love the feeling!
3. Stand Up Tall
Your posture can say a lot about you, and it can even change the way you feel. Keeping your head up and shoulders back can have a big impact on your mood. Don’t forget to try out the ‘power pose’ next time you need a quick post of confidence!
4. Smile For No Reason
You might not feel like smiling, but humor us. Smiling for no reason can actually release happy hormones, and make you feel happy – even if you didn’t feel happy initially! Maybe you want to fix crooked teeth before you show off your smile, and that’s fine. There are many affordable options out there now!
5. Make Gratitude Lists
List things you’re grateful for every single day. There’s always something to be grateful for. The roof over your head? A good friend? A loving family? Make your list!
6. Use Positive Affirmations
Find positive affirmations that resonate with you and use them often. They can change the way you feel about the world and yourself when used correctly and consistently.
7. Get Ample Sleep
If you’re not getting enough sleep, you’re not going to feel great. Stop burning the candle at both ends and make sure you’re getting optimal sleep for your individual needs and lifestyle.
8. Eat Balanced Meals
The food we fuel our bodies with can make a difference to our energy levels and mood, too. You don’t need to eat like a bird, but you should aim for balance!
9. Help Someone
Pay it forward with a random act of kindness, or pick somebody close to you and help them. You’d be surprised at how helping someone else can make us feel as if we’ve done something great for ourselves!
